This notice explains how Chumbo.gg collects and uses information when you visit the site or play the game.
Information we collect
- Information you provide: your chosen nickname, mouse color, chat messages, and messages you send to us.
- Gameplay information: session activity such as movement, scores, kills, survival time, selected slice, and technical events needed to operate and secure the game.
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages requested, timestamps, approximate region derived from IP address, and similar server-log or basic analytics information.
- Browser storage: the site may store your nickname, mouse color, and temporary testing or interface preferences on your device. The private administrator area uses a secure session cookie.
How we use information
We use information to provide multiplayer gameplay, display names and chat, maintain security, prevent abuse, diagnose problems, understand general traffic and usage, improve Chumbo.gg, and respond to messages.
Sharing
Nicknames and chat messages are visible to other players in the same slice. We may share information with hosting, infrastructure, security, and analytics providers that process it for us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
Live world state and chat are designed to be temporary and reset when the server restarts. Your browser keeps locally stored nickname and color choices until you clear them. Technical logs, security records, basic analytics, and correspondence may be retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.
Your choices and rights
You can use a non-identifying nickname, avoid chat, clear this site’s browser storage, and contact us about access, correction, or deletion. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, including rights to know, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing and to receive equal service when exercising those rights.
Children
Chumbo.gg is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Security and international use
We use reasonable safeguards, but no online service is completely secure. Information may be processed in the United States or other places where our service providers operate, which may have different data-protection laws.
Changes
We may update this notice as Chumbo.gg changes. The effective date above will identify the current version.
